Kosovo’s most advanced telecom services provider – IPKO has officially announced that it became a member of global telecom association GSMA that represents more 7 billion mobile connections and 220 countries and territories from all continents.

The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, uniting nearly 800 operators with almost 300 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and internet companies, as well as organizations in adjacent industry sectors.

“We are proudly announcing our full membership in GSMA, Kosovo’s first representation in world’s greatest telecom association, with equal rights and status. Kosovo is now on a global map of telecoms with same rights and conditions as all other operators across the globe. This is an important step further for us as an operator but as a country as well, since now we can represent ourselves as IPKO and Kosovo, negotiate directly with global telecoms and have our own identity in the international telecom world” said Robert Erzin, CEO of IPKO.

As a newly registered member of GSMA, IPKO will represent Kosovo and introduce kosovar telecom market to global operators in GSMA WAS Conference in Macau on March 27th 2017, and inform all global telecom stakeholders on a new country code that Kosovo was approved by International Telecommunications Union.
