IPKO PRESENTS ITS FINANCIAL RESULTS 2013

During 2013, IPKO marked a record growth in mobile telephony, while retaining its leading position in Internet and Digital TV

Today, IPKO presented its financial results for the fiscal year 2013. The company announced that its mobile telephony market share has marked a record growth from 26 % to 34 %, while marking a noticeable growth of its market share in internet and digital television, as it has retained its leading position in market with 51 % market share in internet and 52 % estimated market share in digital cable television.

By the end of 2013, IPKO generated EUR 69.1 million in revenues, EUR 42.6 million expenditures, EBITDA of EUR 26.5 million, EBIT of EUR 8.6 million, while capital investments made by IPKO reached EUR 13 million.

Total capital investments made by IPKO in Kosovo’s economy since 2007 reached a total amount of EUR 253 million. To date, IPKO remains the largest foreign direct investment in Kosovo.

“In 2013, IPKO had a strong performance in all its business segments, including a significant growth in mobile telephony. Therefore, we are enormously proud of the results of the previous year” said Robert Erzin, Executive Director of IPKO. “We will continue to invest in new products and technology, to further advance our leading position in innovation, customer satisfaction and loyalty of our users”.

In addition to increasing our user base by 30 %, the main achievement of 2013 in mobile telephony was the official launch of 3G and a rapid expansion and growth of the network, which by the end of 2014 will cover more than 54 % of the territory and 80 % of the population, enabling a unique experience and incomparably faster mobile internet in Kosovo

Other important achievements during the last year include also launching new tariffs with national minutes, welcoming new users with 1000 minutes, SMS or megabytes, launching “Fol me ton” – the most affordable tariff for calls toward any mobile telephony operator which enabled the calls made within the circle during the summer months to be 0 cent per minute, whereas at the end of the year 2 cents per minute, launching of the Monthly (Mujore) postpaid packages containing national minutes, or launching Hej Mini – a version dedicated to youth, etc.

During 2013, IPKO introduced TVim – personal television for users on the move, expanded its program “IPKO Pika” for the loyal clients of fixed services as well, enriched its TV content with new TV channels and exclusive football broadcasting rights, and offered a significant discount of 15 % at the end of 2013.

Last year IPKO, for the second time, won FIDES Award – a respected gratitude for the Best National Philanthropy Contribution, and was nominated as the Best Performer of the Year within the Telekom Slovenije Gorup.
