IPKO confirmed today its leading position in the Digital TV market in Kosovo, launching the smart receiver – SmartBox, which brings the most advanced Digital TV technology and features, providing a new and untried experience of watching or controlling TV content.
The main features of the new smart receiver – SmartBox include functions such as TimeShift, Personal Video Recorder, Video On-Demand, TV Guide, Parental Control, and many other new options provided for the first time in digital cable television market in Kosovo. To use the SmartBox functions, users need to plug in a USB disk into receiver, where the content selected by the user will be stored.
TimeShift provides the option of pausing the program to continue to view the content, as desired by the user and exactly from the point where the program was paused. TimeShift automatically stores the content viewed in the memory plugged in the SmartBox, while users can go forward and backward to review the moments as desired.
PVR is personal video recorder, which enables users to record a desired content in order to watch it later, or repeat it. SmartBox users can also set the recording of any program, even when they are not at home.
Parental Control enables parents to have control over the programs their children may watch on television. Through PIN code, parents can choose whether or not to allow their children to watch certain channels or contents, even setting the timing when and what their children can watch.
SmartBox TV Guide displays detailed information on the content of TV channels being part of a package of digital cable television provided by IPKO. Part of menu is the also the option ‘search’ which makes it easier to find favorite programs on television.
Video On Demand (VOD) – In SmartBox video library, users may watch their favorite movies, 24 hours a day. The movie library, constantly updated, will provide various movies and TV serials.
SMART BOX comes as a promotional offer for the clients that return their current receiver. For new clients who sign a monthly subscription, the price of Smart Box is EUR 20. For the existing clients who sign a monthly subscription, the price is EUR 10. Whereas for the existing clients who make a one-year subscription – SmartBox will be free of charge.
In order to meet the demands of its users who want High Definition quality channels, without sports channels, IPKO will launch a Family DUO HD package, which offers over 100 channels, including local channels, popular international channels, the entire package of Digitalb channels , and more than 10 channels in HD format, for only EUR 24, 95 per month.
