IPKO today presented its financial results for 2015. The company has announced that over the past year it has reached a record number of internet and digital TV users, while it has managed to maintain its overall revenue, despite the negative trend in roaming and international call termination, which has affected hundreds of mobile operators in many countries around the world.
IPKO ended 2015 with total revenues of 69.1 million euros, expenditures of 45.5 million euros, EBITDA of 23.6 million euros and 24 percent more capital investments, which amounted to 17.2 million euros. The total capital investments of the company in the economy of Kosovo since 2007 to date have reached 284.9 million euros.
The year 2015 marked the first five-year continuous growth cycle of IPKO, a period in which IPKO said that it has managed to double the number of mobile phone users, internet and digital cable TV subscribers.
In the same period, IPKO has also increased its share in the mobile phone market from 25 percent, to a stable average of 35 percent, while in digital TV and internet IPKO continues to be the undisputed leader with about 50 percent market share, despite significant market growth.
In less than five years, IPKO has managed to double the number of mobile phone, internet and digital TV users, and now IPKO serves about 1 million citizens of Kosovo every month, with the combined products and services of the company, which the citizens of Kosovo use on a daily and monthly basis.
“Over the past year, we have accomplished extraordinary things in many segments of our business. IPKO has become the market leader with 3G and 4G internet, we have received new capacities in the frequency band, while in fixed services we have managed to transfer tens of thousands of young Kosovar families to IPKO”, said Robert Erzin, executive director of IPKO company.
“Although every year the telecommunications market is declining at the rate of 15-20 percent, we have managed to keep our revenues stable throughout 2015,” Erzin continued.
Last year, Kosovo users of telecommunication services have chosen IPKO as their preferred provider for mobile phone, mobile internet, digital cable television, and broadband internet, leading IPKO to win the Best Buy Aanair medals in all service categories, for the quality and price ratio for the years 2015/2016.
Finally, IPKO executive director Robert Erzin also said that his company has already defined the vision, mission and values of the company, and to mark this re-update of its image, IPKO has also presented its media campaign, which represents most of the company’s values.
