IPKO organised the first ICT Cybersecurity Conference in Kosovo, bringing together around 250 participants from the business community, public institutions, local and international partners, as well as field experts. The conference served as a strategic platform to raise awareness of the importance of cybersecurity in the digital economy and to address the growing threats in the online space.
The conference programme included thematic presentations and professional discussions on the most common forms of cyberattacks, with a particular focus on botnet and DDoS attacks, which pose a serious risk to networks and critical services. Phishing was also addressed as one of the most widely used methods of digital fraud, ransomware as a financial and operational threat to organisations, as well as aspects of online safety and parental control, with the aim of protecting end users and families.
The presentations provided practical approaches and real-life industry examples, highlighting the need to combine technical measures, organisational processes, and continuous education as the basis for building a secure digital environment.
The conference was further enriched by the contribution of international technology and cybersecurity experts. Metod Platiše, Product Manager at Telekom Slovenije, presented experiences on electronic identification via video, support for digital transactions, and the integration of security solutions in complex networks.
From the perspective of global security providers, Ivan Scavnicar and Tomislav Tucibat from Fortinet shared experiences on network architecture, advanced security solutions, and technical support for ISPs and businesses in the Adriatic region.
Likewise, Vedran Kedmenec, a technology expert from Croatia, presented innovative solutions in the field of network monitoring, automation, and the management of IPTV and IoT services, while Attila Pester, Sales Director for the SEE region at Kudelski Group, spoke about digital content protection, combating piracy, and the security of data and organisational systems.
An additional contribution was also provided by Dalibor Vukovic, Product Manager and cybersecurity specialist at Telekom Slovenije, who addressed the development of security products for the private sector, critical infrastructure, and government institutions, with a focus on attack forecasting and OSINT methodology.
One of the central points of the conference was the panel discussion on current cybersecurity challenges and its role as a strategic priority for organisations and institutions.
The panel brought together professionals from the private and public sector, including:
- Blerim Tahiraj – ICT, IoT & VAS Product Developer
- Metod Platiše – Telekom Slovenije
- Captain Fadil Avdyli – Cybercrime Unit
- Siniša Jakupi – Cybersecurity Specialist
- Gonxhe Syla – Cybersecurity Expert, SENSE CRC
