In the presentation to the director of the IPKO company, Robert Erzin, it was said that IPKO has an important role and impact on the economy of Kosovo, because in addition to the 270 million euros invested in Kosovo and the hundreds of jobs it has created, the telecommunications company has returned all its profits to the country, for the creation of modern infrastructure which also enables the development of the private sector. presenting the position of IPKO in the market, Erzin also presented the high rate of penetration and use of the Internet in Kosovo, as well as the infrastructure of the IPKO mobile network, saying that within the next few weeks IPKO will be in all the centers of Kosovo with the 4G network, in addition to the further expansion of the general infrastructure.
Erzin said that IPKO currently has about 320,000 fixed network ports, which means that fewer Kosovar families can connect to the Internet and digital cable television from IPKO. At the meeting, it was said that among the main challenges faced by IPKO in the Kosovo market are the lack of frequency resources in mobile telephony, where equal treatment was requested for all mobile operators in Kosovo, illegal cable television operators, legal operators but with illegal content, non-compliance of copyright, as well as shortcomings in the digitization process.
