IPKO organized the 4th Cyber Security Conference on 7 October 2026 at Klan Arena in Prishtina, bringing together more than 400 participants from the telecommunications and technology industry, cyber security experts, representatives of institutions and businesses, as well as well-known international companies.

The main novelties of this edition were live cyber security demonstrations and specialized masterclasses on security in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). Through hands-on demonstrations by the Kosova Cyber Team, participants had the opportunity to see cyber risks up close, how they are identified, and approaches to defending against them. The masterclasses, meanwhile, offered insights and concrete solutions for securing AI-based applications and systems.

In cooperation with international partners Fortinet and Cisco, two specialized masterclasses were held: “Security in AI Era with FortiAI – Protect, Assist and SecureAI” by Fortinet, and “Cisco AI Defense: Security for AI Applications & Agents” by Cisco. These sessions addressed the new security challenges brought by the development of AI and approaches to protecting AI applications, systems and agents.

The conference served as a platform for discussing the developments, challenges and priorities shaping the future of cyber security in the region. The program included strategic and technical presentations, two panel discussions, specialized masterclasses, practical demonstrations, and a Cyber Security Exhibition with international partners.

The conference opened with remarks by IPKO’s Chief Executive Officer, András Pali, followed by the presentation “The Hidden Exposure in Kosovo: A Cross-Industry Cyber Security Challenge from Leak to Breach”, delivered by Faton Kurteshi, Head of the Technology Solutions and Service Quality Unit at IPKO, and Kastriot Fetahaj, trainer of the Kosova Cyber Team and software and cyber security engineer at Daily Wire.

The centerpiece of the conference was the strategic panel “The Development of Cyber Security in the Region”, which brought together executives of telecommunications operators from Kosovo and the region for a high-level discussion on cyber security challenges, investments and strategic priorities, as well as the role of the telecommunications sector in strengthening digital resilience.

The panelists were:

• András Pali, Chief Executive Officer, IPKO;
• Vesna Prodnik, Member of the Management Board, Telekom Slovenije.
• Verica Naskovska, Deputy Director for Information Security (CISO), Governance, Risk Management and Compliance, and Data Protection, A1 Makedonija;

The panel was moderated by Valon Canhasi, enabling a balanced and in-depth discussion on the economic, institutional and strategic impact of investments in digital security.

The program continued with presentations by international partners. Attila Pester, Strategic Accounts Sales Director at Nagra, and Paul Palmer, Business Development Director at Utopia, shared experiences and concrete solutions for protecting against modern threats.

The second panel, “The Importance of the First Line of Defense – DNS Security”, focused on the technical aspect of network protection and the role of DNS as a key point in preventing cyber-attacks.

The panelists were:

• Marko Ugrin, Systems Engineering Manager at Fortinet;
• Goce Dojcinovski, Solutions Engineer at Cisco;
• Flamur Prapashtica, Head of Security Management at IPKO.

In parallel, the Cyber Security Exhibition brought together companies and partners such as Whalebone, Utopia, Fortinet, Strix, Cisco, Nagra, DEFCON and Netskope. Live demonstrations by the Kosova Cyber Team allowed participants to become closely acquainted with cyber risks and approaches to defending against them. Meanwhile, networking sessions created space for exchanging experiences, building partnerships and professional collaboration.

With its fourth edition, IPKO further strengthened its role as an initiator of cyber security dialogue in Kosovo and the region, contributing to greater awareness, cooperation and capacity in the face of cyber threats.
