Important information for roaming

Users of Ipko mobile telephony can use roaming without having to activate the roaming service. Roaming is activated for all Ipko GSM users. As long as users of Ipko GSM services are out of Kosovo, they can:
Make a roaming call
Accept roaming calls
Send roaming SMS

Important information regarding roaming usage

Private users will use Camel Roaming and USSD Roaming, whereas business users will use Normal Roaming for services outside Kosovo. They only differ in billing.

Camel Roaming and Normal Roaming
Mobile operators that are partners with IPKO, will allow you to make calls as if you were calling within the Ipko network, without having to dial an additional code. The only difference is that if you are in an area outside Kosovo and are calling in Kosovo, the number you are calling should be dialed as an international call i.e. + 386 49 xxxxxx or 00386 49 xxxxxx.

Normal Roaming
Normal Roaming is similar to Camel Roaming, however it differs for post paid business users.

USSD Roaming through returned calls
IPKO users can use USSD Roaming through returned calls, in case any operator does not support Camel Roaming or does not have a direct agreement with IPKO. This type of Roaming enables access to a larger international network operators, and can be used when Camel Roaming is not supported. To make calls through this kind of Roaming, dial the number as follows:
*125*[telephone number]#
(where the telephone number has to be dialed in the international mode)

To check weather the operator you will use outside Kosovo supports USSD Roaming, just dial the code to check your account status:
*123#

If your account balance appears in your screen, than the mobil operator that you are using for roaming, supports USSD Roaming and you can continue to make calls as described above.
